Healthy and nursing right away.

Epidural

Janel was having strong, frequent contractions and so we ordered an epidural. The anesthesiologist just left and she seems to be doing much better already. Whew!

The View

Waiting

Janel is flipping through the channels on TV. She says we should have gone to the movies before we checked in. Looks like some parts of Colorado will get 12-24" of snow.

Pitocin

Okay, I'm back. The Pitocin is flowin. We are only at 1.5 centimeters. I went to get some dinner and got pulled over for a burned out tail light. It is starting to snow. Janel is doing fine and feeling a little impatient.

Admitted

Janel was just officially admitted to the hospital after the doctor confirmed that the liquid in her diaper was indeed amniotic fluid. The nurse didn't need to see the test results, she said that she could smell that it was amniotic fluid. Janel is now filling out paper work and lying in bed hooked up to monitors and an iv. She hasn't started laboring and I am encouraging her to start the inducement medications now since she is only one centimeter dilated.

Delivery Time

We're live blogging the birth of our fifth child, Amber. Janel's water broke at about 2:00 p.m on Thursday and she is having mild irregular contractions. Janel just checked in to the hospital and is now in her gown rocking peacefully in her room. The other kids are with Brandie and Mom is on her way from Colorado Springs. We are at Good Samaritan hospital in Lafayette, CO.

Daddy-Daughter Date

Hailey is one of my favorite people, she can really make me laugh.

Conference Sunday

Conference weekend is a wonderful time for our family.  We receive instruction and inspiration from God as we listen to the prophet and apostles.  I especially enjoyed Elder Oakes' talk, and not just because he is a former state supreme court justice.  He asked what we think of Jesus and what we are doing because of our belief.

You probably already know this, but I'll write it anyway: I have a beautiful wife.

Daddy Daughter Date

Today, Hailey and I went to a friend's house and played with herds of cats.  Then we went to DQ and ran errands.  Fun, fun, fun.

Claire's First Day Home

Our dear friend Joy moved away this week. Eight of us got together to make this awesome quilt for her. Each of us picked out are own fabric and sewed the pieces together. Once I got everyone's contribution I sewed them together and put the border together. I love the way it turned out. Joy was so surprised when we gave it to her and had a quilting party to tie the quilt. Thanks everyone!
